Weekly update – 13 January 2023
Seat-a-light!
At Long Curtain Moat we have now placed and connected lighting in the new timber benches in the western area between the two bridges. On special occasions, the lights will be able to be programmed to display different colours which will really enhance this area.
Balustrade laid
A balustrade is a row of small columns topped by a rail. After several weeks of installation, we’ve now completed our final section of balustrade along the eastern side of Long Curtain Moat. The balustrade on this phase is a combination of bespoke and off-the-shelf (pictured here) and will replicated in future phases of the Scheme.
Bandstand bared
The old wall around Bandstand Field between the bandstand and the promenade has been removed as the new retaining wall is in place. This will ensure the area is protected during upcoming construction which involves installation of a secondary wall and raising the promenade.
Sounds like a plan
The final date to comment on our planning application for an amended design to the area between the Pyramids and Speakers Corner is 6 February 2023. Search for ‘planning applications’ on the Portsmouth City CouncilĀ website and enter reference number 22/01720/VOC to have your say.
